Detectives from the department are investigating a robbery that took place at Key Bank on Post Road at approximately 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
Police said that the suspect entered the bank branch and passed the clerk a note that indicated he was committing the robbery. He left out of the back door of the bank with an undisclosed amount of money before the clerk could alert law enforcement officials.
The suspect was described by police as an African American man who was wearing dark sunglasses, blue gloves, a dark hoodie, dark pants and tan shoes at the time of the robbery.
Anyone with information regarding the robbery or who recognizes the suspect is being asked to contact investigators at the Fairfield Police Detective Bureau by calling (203) 254-4840 or texting the tip to 274637 (CRIMES) with the letters FPD and the tip.
